Based in East Machias and Belfast, Maine regions, Gin Majka is a photographer and short-form filmmaker specializing in both analog and digital processes. Combining her love for creativity and the environment, her images portray meditative human interaction with the natural world. By merging portraiture, fine art, and experimental methods, she creates breathtaking and unique photographs that possess an ethereal quality. Gin received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Planning and Policy with a Nature Tourism minor at the University of Southern Maine in 2021. After seven seasons with the National Park Service, she acquired a Professional Certificate in Visual Storytelling from Maine Media College in 2023. Since then, she has worked as a seasonal Visual Information Specialist with Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument, shot for The New York Times and Down East Magazine, and is currently pursuing freelance projects in environmental, adventure and portrait photography across coastal Maine.
